last night's eagerly anticipated dinner at The Swiss Chalet was quite disappointing.

i started with raclette - though it was more potato and less of the raclette unfortunately. the potatoes were excellent though. we followed up with a cheese fondue for G and an onion soup for me. the fondue was ordered 'without herbs' as g wanted a plain and non-messed-with fondue. there were so many types of fondue on the menu. i was tempted to go with a beef fondue - hot oil rather than cheese but decided it was too much for just me. in the end, g's fondue was average, too my liquor which overpowered the cheese flavour. my soup was below average. we did have a laugh though. the staff were fun, and it was a nice enough restaurant -- not sure about the decor though.
