thursday's lunch : truffle gnocchi for me, margherita pizza for g at La Bottega

the truffle gnocchi was tasty with just the right amount of olive oil and parmesan. the first bite was the best - the truffle flavour was very distinct. in ensuing mouthfuls it tapered off.

g got a small pizza - he said it was okay, nothing exciting.

la bottega is an italian restaurant at the opposite end of the village from our condo. we've been twice for lunch. the first time i had a panino where the bread was so hard i had to eat just the contents. i was sceptical about returning but glad i did as i enjoyed the gnocchi. it's a so-so place but you few other options if you want an italian menu. it depends on the day you go with respect to the level of service. our first visit the food was crap but the service was excellent. our second visit the food was good, the service absolutely awful (obnoxious waitress).
