if you venture to the east end of london, a place you might like to go to is the columbia road flower market. my sister dragged me there a few years ago and it was worth getting up at 7am on a weekend - for the flowers, the scene, the flower sellers shouting everything out in cockney rhyming slang...a real east end market.
there are loads of flowers and other plants, and their prices are extremely good...so much so you will be hard pressed to stop yourself from buying more blooms than you can carry.
do go early, it opens at 8am (i know i know but it's worth it). by closing time at 2pm there is little left.
