Gwen and Augustus John : Spot the Difference

Born respectively in 1876 and 1878, sister and brother Gwen and Augustus John were both students at the Slade School in London during the 1890s. Whilst Augustus was more of a gypsy, Gwen adopted a slow-working, fastidious approach to her work. It wasn't all boring though -she was the muse to Auguste Rodin, later becoming his lover. Augustus' work has been described as "what we might call his bombastic official portrait style.", whereas in contrast his sister's work "generally has an understated depiction of low-level depression." I've always loved the works of these sibling artists.
