god i'm tired.... spent 6 hours yesterday, 8 hours today in the hospital....and i'm not even the one having surgery! g's operation went well, they removed lots of gross stuff that apparently has been preventing his knee from working properly for many many years, most likely a congenital thing. poor lamb. we are finally back at the condo and he is napping with his knee bandaged to the size of an elephant's. he has to use a contraption at night which elevates and lowers his leg whilst he sleeps - for 8 hours every night. yikes. his first rehab session starts at 9am tomorrow. no rest for the wicked. i get my MRI results back tomorrow, fingers crossed i can avoid surgery...

it was another beautiful sunny day. no snow. the village is really well equipped to take people from east to west vail - the village is in the middle. i got the free shuttle bus from outside the hotel to the hospital, all of 7 mins in the bus. i shared it with numerous skiiers, boarders and locals. it is super efficient. at every bus stop they have a digital display that tells you how many minutes until the next 2 shuttles are arriving.

everyone working here - from the hotel to the hospital staff to the people in the stores - is very laid back. they have a good energy and are the kindest people i've met in a long time. maybe it's something in the mountain air.
